Why Kaizen
Taught by working artists
Kaizen Education is the professional side of Reverie Salon. Classes are led by Sal Misseri — Davines Global Artist, 17-time NAHA-recognized stylist and winner at the Irish Hairdressing Awards and America's Beauty Show Global Image Awards — and the Kaizen educators, who teach the same standard they work to every day behind the chair.
How long is the Razor Cutting class?
It is a full-day, hands-on class of six to eight hours in a small group at Reverie Salon, 300 W Grand Ave, Suite 5, in Chicago's River North — with demonstration first, then time behind the chair with individual correction.
How much does the Razor Cutting class cost?
The Razor Cutting class is from $600 per person, the same as Kaizen's other hands-on cutting and color classes. Payment plans are available on select classes.
Who teaches the Razor Cutting class?
Kaizen classes are taught by Sal Misseri — founder of Kaizen Education and Reverie Salon, Davines Global Artist and 17-time NAHA-recognized stylist — and the Kaizen educators.
Does razor cutting damage hair?
Not when it is done correctly. Damage comes from dull blades, the wrong hair type or poor angles. The class teaches blade control, wet-hair technique and when not to use the razor so the integrity of the hair is protected.
Do you razor cut on wet or dry hair?
Kaizen teaches razor cutting on wet hair, using the razor to release the shape hidden inside the hair for soft, natural movement.
Can I take Razor Cutting privately or bring it to my salon?
Yes. Razor Cutting can be booked as a one-to-one private mentoring day or taught to your whole team through Kaizen in-salon education. Email sal@reveriesalon.com or call (312) 955-0083.
