Kaizen Education is the professional side of Reverie Salon. Classes are led by Sal Misseri — Davines Global Artist, 17-time NAHA-recognized stylist and winner at the Irish Hairdressing Awards and America's Beauty Show Global Image Awards — and the Kaizen educators, who teach the same standard they work to every day behind the chair.
How long is the Curly Haircutting class?
It is a full-day, hands-on class of six to eight hours in a small group at Reverie Salon, 300 W Grand Ave, Suite 5, in Chicago's River North — with demonstration first, then time behind the chair with individual correction.
How much does the Curly Haircutting class cost?
The Curly Haircutting class is from $600 per person, the same as Kaizen's other hands-on cutting and color classes. Payment plans are available on select classes.
Who teaches the Curly Haircutting class?

Yes. It is built for licensed stylists at any level who want to serve curly clients with confidence, starting from how to read the curl and run the consultation.
What makes curly cutting different from cutting straight hair?
Curls shrink, stack and spring in ways straight hair does not, so the shape has to be planned around curl pattern, density and shrinkage rather than length alone. The class teaches how to read those variables before cutting.
