Kaizen Education is the professional side of Reverie Salon. Classes are led by Sal Misseri — Davines Global Artist, 17-time NAHA-recognized stylist and winner at the Irish Hairdressing Awards and America's Beauty Show Global Image Awards — and the Kaizen educators, who teach the same standard they work to every day behind the chair.
How long is the Dry Cutting class?
It is a full-day, hands-on class of six to eight hours in a small group at Reverie Salon, 300 W Grand Ave, Suite 5, in Chicago's River North — with demonstration first, then time behind the chair with individual correction.
How much does the Dry Cutting class cost?
The Dry Cutting class is from $600 per person, the same as Kaizen's other hands-on cutting and color classes. Payment plans are available on select classes.
Who teaches the Dry Cutting class?
Kaizen classes are taught by Sal Misseri — founder of Kaizen Education and Reverie Salon, Davines Global Artist and 17-time NAHA-recognized stylist — and the Kaizen educators.
Is dry cutting better than wet cutting?
Neither is better for every client. Dry cutting shows the hair in its finished state — how it falls, where it is damaged and how it grows — which makes it ideal for texture, movement and personalization. The class teaches when to choose each.
Will dry cutting slow me down behind the chair?
Once the sectioning and control are in your hands, dry cutting often speeds up the finish, because you correct as you go instead of after the blow-dry.
